PHAETHON CoE is Proudly Contributing to Transforming UCY into a Smart Energy Campus
The University of Cyprus is upgrading its renewable energy and smart grids testing infrastructure through a 1.6 million investment financed by the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility in the context of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The PHAETHON Centre of Excellence is proudly and meaningfully contributing to materialising this major infrastructure investment, which aims to create significant research capacity for Cyprus, aiding in its shift towards clean energy and in achieving the decarbonisation of its energy system.
Moreover, with state-of-the-art solar simulators, climatic chambers, battery cyclers, and smart grid emulation testbeds, the upgrade will help to position the University of Cyprus PHAETHON CoE at the forefront of the Energy Transition, to drive impactful change in the renewable energy landscape in Cyprus and beyond.
