Engaging the Next Generation: PHAETHON Expands Educational Outreach with Interactive School Visits
The PHAETHON Centre of Excellence continues and expands upon the long tradition of the FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy, facilitating on-site school visits as part of its contribution to society through multiple educational activities
Indicatively, during the previous calendar year and first of its operation, the nascent Centre welcomed 15 different school visits at its laboratories, ranging from Secondary Private Schools, to Technical and Vocational Schools of Education and Training, to Lyceums.
During these visits, students have the unique opportunity to learn more about the latest in Renewable Energy Sources, particularly Photovoltaics, as well as be exposed to related technologies through a hands-on approach. Moreover, the on-site demonstrations by the Centre’s expert trainers cover exciting and timely energy topics, such as storage, e-mobility, green hydrogen, and smart cities.
The year underway promises to be just as active on this front, with a slate of school visits planned and in progress.
